Moong Dal Halwa.
Preparation Time- 5-6 hours
Cooking Time - 1 hour
Ingredients:
Moong dal-1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Milk - 1/4 cup
Ghee- 3/4 cup
Water 1/2 cup
Badam- 6-7(finely chopped)
Pista- 3-4(finely chopped)
Kesar - 10-12 strands
Elachi powder - 1 teaspoon
Preparation:
1.Soak moong dal for 4 hours with water .
2.Coarsely grind the moong dal with least water.
3.Heat ghee in a non stick flattened pan .
4.In medium heat fry the moong dal for 25-30 minutes.(continuous stirring is recommended)
5.In another pan add 1/2 water,1 cup sugar , kesar , elachi powder and make sugar syrup by boiling it for at least 10 minutes over low heat.
6.Add the sugar syrup to the moong dal ,stir continuously for 5 minutes.
7.Add warm milk to the moong dal and fry for more 5 minutes.
8.Add chopped almonds and pista.
9.Serve hot .
